Bana Gostar Karaneh (B.G.K) was founded in March 2006. The company has grown from a predominately homegrown entity to a key player in offering bunkering services in the Northern Part of Persian Gulf in almost three years time and incredibly captured almost 15 per cent of the market in the region.
To achieve a more and effective business role in the region, the company has made considerable investments in construction of fundamental infrastructures (i.e. storage tanks with a capacity of 84,000 Cubic Meters, direct connecting pipe lines from Bandar Abass Refinery to the Tank Farm and several jetties in Shahid Rajaee Port at Bandar Abass. For the purpose of bunkering activities, a shipping fleet comprising of seven vessels with a capacity between 3 to 10 thousand Dwt are currently in service. Jetties are technically and operationally suitable to accommodate vessels with a capacity of up to 30,000 Dwt.
A new development project is already launched and underway to establish a tank farm with the capacity of 300,000 Cubic Meters, connecting pipe lines and jetties in Bandar Abbas.
The formal inauguration of the above referred on-shore facilities took place in February 2009 with the presence of H.E. the Minister for Road & Transportation.
As a result of succeeding in a public tender held by National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), BGK has been awarded a long term fuel oil (IFO & Gas Oil) - sales/purchase agreement during the first quarter of 2006, for the quantity of 3 million tons per annum.
During the first quarter of 2009, a second sales/purchase agreement was signed with the NIOPDC for the supply of 480,000 MT per annum for bunkering in Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK) and Asalu'ya.
